$2.5 Million Record-Setting Settlement for Death of 88-year-old Woman
A record-high settlement of $2.5 million for the death of an 88-year-old woman was reached in pre-trial mediated conferences. While riding as a passenger in her daughter-in-law’s car, Sallie Lenn suffered a fractured neck when the car was hit from behind by another car. Multiple surgeries were needed to stabilize the break due to the brittleness of her bones. After almost 5 months in hospitals and nursing facilities, Lenn died of complications from her injuries.
