$4 Million Settlement for Failure to Properly Treat Aneurysm
During a pretrial conference, Corboy & Demetrio, representing a Red Robin International Vice President who died as a result of not being properly treated for a pulmonary arterial aneurysm, reached a settlement of $4 million on behalf of its client in his lawsuit against Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The executive, who was from Seattle, Washington, was in Chicago for a convention when he experienced the rupture of an aneurysm. He went to Northwestern, was monitored overnight but instead of performing further testing, the hospital discharged him. While shopping the next day, the aneurysm further ruptured and he died.
