$3.5 Million for Infant who Suffered Brain Damage During Cardiac Surgery
Corboy & Demetrio obtained a settlement of $3.5 million on behalf of the family of an 8-year-old girl, who as an infant, underwent surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat. The doctors at Children's Memorial Hospital decided to perform a risky cardiac biopsy to determine the cause and punctured the wall of the girl's heart, causing cardiac arrest and resulting in brain damage.
