Corboy & Demetrio Obtains $2.9 Million Settlement for 79-year-old Pedestrian Hit by Car

Corboy & Demetrio has obtained a settlement of $2.9 million on behalf of a 79-year-old Illinois woman who was walking in the crosswalk of intersection in a northern Chicago suburb on June 23, 2017, in broad daylight when she was struck and injured by the driver of a car.
The woman suffered an open left distal tibia/fibula fracture requiring external fixation and an eventual below the knee amputation.
She was represented by Corboy & Demetrio Partner William T. Gibbs.
Case # 17L6956 filed in Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 20, 2017. Partially settled on Sep 13, 2018 with final settlement for additional $900,000 on June 5, 2019.
