Corboy & Demetrio Files Lawsuit in Double-Decker Bus Crash in Chicago
Corboy & Demetrio has filed a lawsuit on behalf of three passengers who were on board a double-decker sightseeing bus that crashed into an overpass on Saturday in Chicago.
The plaintiffs are three women from Northern Ireland who were on vacation and were seated on the second level of the bus when it struck a support beam upon entering Lower Randolph Street from DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
“The women were on a trip of a lifetime to have fun and take in the sights of Chicago. Instead, they watched in horror as the top of the bus was sheared off just above their heads,” said Corboy & Demetrio Partner Philip Corboy, Jr., who represents the women.
Corboy & Demetrio filed the lawsuit in Cook Co. Circuit Court on behalf of Bridget McKinley, Ciara McKinley, and Theresa McGuinness. The lawsuit alleges that the Defendant should have known the bus was too tall to safely clear the overpass and that it failed to properly train its bus drivers or educate them on the hazards present on its bus routes. The women are all suffering from emotional and psychological injuries.
