Chicago Lawyer Thomas Demetrio interviewed by Korean Media about Asiana Plane Crash Lawsuits
Corboy & Demetrio founding partner Thomas A. Demetrio was interviewed by The Korea Times newspaper in a story entitled, “Economics of Plane Crash Investigation,” on July 21, 2013.
Demetrio, who has represented plane crash victims for more than 30 years, says lawsuits filed by passengers in the crash of Asiana Flight 214, can be filed in their home countries, the final points of their destinations, California or Chicago.
Demetrio and his Chicago law firm have been involved in nearly every major plane crash case since the 1970’s, including the crash of United Airlines Flight 232 in Sioux City, the crash of USAir Flight 427 in Pennsylvania, the crash of American Airlines Flight 191 at O’Hare Airport and the crash of TWA Flight 800 off Long Island, as well as the plane crash that killed musician Jim Croce and the helicopter crash that killed musician Stevie Ray Vaughan.
In his Korea Times interview, Demetrio explained that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is interested in “safety of the air-travelling public” and does not have any interest in protecting air traffic controllers.
