Corboy & Demetrio Obtains Millions for Victims of Amtrak Train Collision

On March 15, 1999 an Amtrak train left Chicago at approximately 8 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at its final destination in New Orleans at 3:30 p.m. on March 16. En route to its destination, the train collided with a flatbed tractor-trailer truck at a railroad crossing at McKnight Road near the entrance to the Birmingham Steel Corporation. The crash occurred about 3 or 4 miles north of the Kankakee stop and a half mile south of Bourbonnais, Illinois. Of the 216 passengers, 13 were confirmed dead and more than 100 passengers were injured.
