She was scheduled for a Cesarean section two days later. Early that morning, her uterus ruptured and an emergency section was performed. Following her birth, the baby required incubation and suffered seizures. She has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and walks with canes and wears braces on her legs. The jury returned a record-setting verdict of $16,599,350.
