Corboy & Demetrio Lawyer Michelle M. Kohut Installed as Officer in Women’s Bar Association of Illinois
Chicago lawyer Michelle M. Kohut, an associate at Corboy & Demetrio, has been installed as the Second Vice-President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
Kohut is a Lake Bluff resident and trial lawyer who has been honored with the designation of “Illinois Super Lawyer, Rising Star,” for the last four years. She was also named one of "40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch" by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2007 in recognition of her success.
“I look forward to my new role as Second Vice President of the WBAI and continuing the work of increasing our membership as chair of the membership committee,” Kohut said.
Kohut and the other newly installed officers were sworn in earlier this month at the association’s annual dinner, which is one of the largest annual celebrations within the Chicago legal community, with over 700 judges, attorneys, corporate supporters, and prominent leaders attending each year.
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan was presented with the Myra Bradwell Award, an award bestowed upon women who have exhibited excellence in the profession and practice of law. Also, U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky was given the Women with Vision Award.
The mission of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois includes promoting, protecting and fostering the interests and welfare of women lawyers.
