$5.35 Million Jury Verdict for Limousine Driver Who Lost his Leg
A Cook County Jury awarded a limousine driver $5.35 million for the loss of his right leg after being pinned between two vehicles. The driver of a limousine exited his car at a terminal at O’Hare Airport and walked to the trunk to unload his passenger’s luggage. Another limousine driver pulled up behind him, exited his limousine, and then realized his vehicle was still moving. He quickly went back into the vehicle and hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, ramming into the victim and pinning him between the two limousines. Fifteen fractures and impaired circulation to the right leg necessitated amputating the right leg at the knee. The plaintiff was represented at trial by Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr., a partner at Corboy & Demetrio.
