Corboy & Demetrio Files Motion to Preserve Evidence in CTA Blue Line Derailment
Corboy & Demetrio filed an Emergency Motion for Protective Order today to preserve evidence relating to the derailment of a CTA Blue Line train at O’Hare International Airport. The Motion includes all video recorded by the CTA of the train; maintenance records of the train cars; all dispatch tapes evidencing communication and transmissions between the operator of the train and dispatchers immediately before, at the time of, and immediately after the crash on March 24, 2014; access to the event recorder on the train; all data reflecting the speed of the train and all data reflecting the operation of the braking system of the train.
The motion comes a day after Corboy & Demetrio filed a negligence lawsuit on behalf of a passenger who was injured when a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train derailed at O’Hare International Airport.
The plaintiff is 23-year-old Dalila Jefferson , a security officer who was heading to her job at O’Hare, and was riding in the first car, which climbed the escalator after jumping the tracks.
