The Passing of Chicago Journalist and Former Corboy & Demetrio Attorney Joel Daly
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Joel Daly, a longtime Chicago anchorman who graced our halls when he worked for Corboy & Demetrio as a trial lawyer after graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1988.
“Joel was a class act and we were lucky to have him at our firm. He was a terrific trial lawyer and we were privileged to call him one of our own,” said Corboy & Demetrio Co-founder Thomas A. Demetrio.
Daly attended law school in the evenings while working during the day as a TV journalist. He was in his 50s at the time and already a legend in Chicago for his longtime work at WLS-TV.
“Joel was intuitive and very smart. I enjoyed tremendously watching his early success as a lawyer,” said Corboy & Demetrio Managing Partner Ken Lumb who worked for Daly as his law clerk.
“He was very genuine and nice. Even more than his television persona,” said Corboy & Demetrio Facilities Manager Peter Rooney. “Joel will be greatly missed.”
