$1.4 Million FELA Settlement for Estate of Railroad Employee
Corboy & Demetrio attorneys settled an FELA claim on behalf of the estate of a railroad employee for $1.4 million. The employee was struck by a train while working on his job with the Union Pacific Railroad on a surfacing gang. He was killed instantly. Union Pacific failed to provide proper job training, failed to designate a roadway worker in charge of the work group, failed to notify workers of a change in on-track safety procedures, and failed to notify the crew of an approaching train.
