Fox River Grove Train/Bus Collision Wrongful Death Litigation

Corboy & Demetrio Partner Thomas Demetrio was appointed Lead Counsel in the Fox River Grove Metra train-bus collision that took place in 1995.  A school bus crossed over Metra railroad tracks in Fox River Grove, Illinois, and stopped with three and a half feet of the bus left on the tracks. A Metra train, heading to Chicago, collided with the bus, killing seven students and injuring several others. Corboy & Demetrio represented the estates of three students killed and seven injured in the tragedy. The total settlement for all cases exceeded $25 million.
