$950,000 Settlement for College Sudent Injured at Campus Loading Dock
Corboy & Demetrio obtained a settlement of $950,000 for a 24-year-old college student who on October 24, 2016, was walking on the Purdue Northwest Campus when Defendant, a professor, backed out of a loading dock and struck her. She suffered a closed head injury with severe brain damage leaving her disabled, non-communicative, in a wheelchair, and in need of lifetime care. Evidence showed that Purdue failed to properly maintain the premises and foliage obstructed the driver's view of the sidewalk.
